Kick back, throw in your headphones, and get ready to vibe like you’ve never vibed before. Penn State sophomore and dance producer Kollektiv is back, this time dropping a sick collaboration with fellow dance artist and Penn Stater Animalia (a.k.a. Mitch Holladay), a 4th year student majoring in lighting design for theatre. Similar majors and music tastes brought them into the studio together, and the result is a blissful, laid-back cut of smooth electronica, titled “Transmitter.” Inspired by a vocal clip from a Youtube video titled “Function of Neurotransmitters,” “Transmitter” opens with a spritely piano riff, while a breezy synth gurgles over a clicking, four-to-the-floor beat. Even when the song picks up speed and intensity, bringing in growling dubstep stutters, the wub wub is softened by the effervescent nature of the production. Click play below, and let Kollektiv and Animalia take you to the land of electronic groove.
