SPA Noontime Act of the Week: JD Eicher
On Friday, September 27th, 2013 Penn State University’s Student Programming Association will host singer-songwriter JD Eicher in a noontime event that is FREE for all Penn State students. The concert will take place at noon in the HUB Noontime Lounge located on the second floor, directly above Panda Sushi.
JD Eicher is the lead vocalist and guitarist for JD Eicher and the Goodnights, a band originating from Pittsburgh, PA and Youngstown, OH. The quartet has recorded three albums together, skillfully fusing them with overarching themes of love, hope, and acceptance. The titles of their three albums together cleverly spell out “The Shape of Things Shifting Into Place.” Their most recent album, “Into Place,” was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Dustin Burnett and represents a culmination of the themes presented in their previous two albums. The band’s soaring and graceful pop-rock has often been compared to the likes of Coldplay, Keane, The Script, The Killers, and Death Cab for Cutie.
JD Eicher’s solo acoustic performance at noon will set the tone for the full band’s appearance later that night when they open for Hellogoodbye. Come check out JD Eicher this Friday at noon in the HUB!
