SPA to host Halloween Costume Contest/Rave



The Student Programming Association will be hosting a Halloween Costume Contest/Rave for the ages at 10:00 P.M. on October 29th, in Alumni Hall. Contest entry forms will be available to the student body on October 19th and registration will be open until 9:30 P.M. on the night of the event. The event will be free for all who wish to enter at 10:00PM, and doors will open for contestants at 9:30P.M.


SPA’s got you covered for your Halloween festivities this year with the Halloween Costume Contest and Rave. The event will be hosted by Second Floor Stand-Up’s Dave Porter and the Student Programming Association’s Matthew Preven, and entertainment will be brought to the students by DJ Yaro of the Electronic Dance Music Club.


The Costume Contest will feature three main prizes, along with other surprise prizes to be dispersed to audience members throughout the night. The first place winner will receive a 32” Vizio HDTV. The second place winner will receive a “Wii Bundle Pack.” Our third prize winner will receive a $100 Gift Card to Best Buy. The Contest will be judged by special guests as well based on the categories of originality, creativity, effort, humor and personality.


The Costume Rave will feature beats by DJ Yaro of the Electronic Dance Music Club. DJ Yaro, a PSU student, will provide the best in today’s Top 40s music, along with the best in today’s electronic and techno music. The perfect atmosphere for a rave will be delivered with lights, fog machines, lasers and more.
