Alexa Ferr Joins NOH8 Campaign

Los Angeles, CA – Rugged Pop artist Alexa Ferr has joined many others including Miley Cyrus, Janel Parish (Pretty Little Liars), JR Bourne (Teen Wolf) and The Property Brothers to name a few, to lend her support to the NOH8 Campaign. Photo taken by celebrity photographer Adam Brouska,  Alexa hopes her involvement through the campaign will unite people to come together to support love equality, same sex marriage, and “no hate” towards anything or anyone.
“I hope to bring awareness to my fans and people around the world that we truly are all equal whether we are attracted to the same or opposite sex. We should not be discriminated against based on the colour of our skin, the way we look, and who we love.”

Alexa Ferr Biography:

Toronto, ON/Los Angeles, CA

Alexa Ferr first gained her start in the music industry with the release of her single “Fell” which features Mathew “M dot” Finely who’s predominately known for his role in Disney Channel’s Camp Rock 2. A triple threat, who not only sings but also dances and acts, Alexa has been incorporating her dance background into her live shows.

For the past few years, Alexa has been in Los Angeles working with The Invaders  (Blake McGrath, Chrystina Sayers, Melody Thornton, X Factor’s Josh Levi, Normani Kordei of Fifth Harmony) who produced her debut EP Lipstick In The Glass. Developing her sound from the release of “Fell,” Alexa has been able to captivate a “rugged pop” which is described as a sound “being rougher than average pop.” With this sound, Alexa not only shows her maturation but also her potential as an up and coming artist.

About NOH8 Campaign:
“The NOH8 Campaign is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.”

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protestcreated by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (http://www.bouska.net) and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition (passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage). Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “ NOH8” painted on one cheek in protest.
Since the campaign’s beginnings, it has grown to nearly 33,000 faces and continues to grow at an exponential rate. The campaign features photos of people from all walks of lifes including everyday Californians (where the portraits began) to politicians, military personnel, law enforcement, artists, celebrities, to name a few.
Today, the NOH8 Campaign has grown to stand against discrimination and bullying of all kinds. “The message of ‘No Hate’ can be interpreted and applied broadly, and speaks to each person in their own way.”
