Meet Ella Yelich-O’Connor, otherwise known as Lorde, a sixteen-year-old pop songstress hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. The outback kiwi has already notched a number one single in her native land with the brilliant “Royals” and has gained even more success with her debut, The Love Club EP, which peaked at number 2. She’s definitely someone to watch — and she’s still in high school.
Lorde’s music is truly something different and she stands out in a sea of over-sexed and over-produced pop singers. Her sound is catchy enough to get your toes tapping, but cool enough to peak the interest of any indie snob. She’s soft and delicate yet somehow brazen.
