Every Monday morning I can’t help but notice the amount of students walking to class struggling. The week has just begun and there seems to be no end in sight. My professor mentioned ways to beat the Monday mornings, and the first thing he said was music. I took some time and put together some Monday morning hits (if you will) to walk to class and start the week right. I only have 5 this morning, so grab your coffee and Ipod and here we go. A little disclaimer, I’m a big hip hop fan so these are all songs that I rock out to in the morning.
Good Morning View – Asher Roth

Asher Roth does more than just write about getting drunk at college. The jazz based rapper always puts together some good morning tunes, and this is one of my favorites. “Good Morning View” just relaxes you as you walk to class and reminds you that everything is going to be alright. The laid back tune is a great way to start the morning if you’re just looking to chill.
Numb – Aziz ft Ground Up

If you’re looking to get hype for the day and the rest of the week, then I have a jam for you. Aziz is a New England based rapper who has a flow quite like no one else. He teams up with Phily’s own Ground Up and the three emcees are guaranteed to get you going. The hook is loud – especially when you have headphones on – and it’ll get you feeling good. “Numb” is a must have if you want to start the week with a little energy.
Inception – Logic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hs3LtmZwnw
Logic is an up and coming rapper who had one of the highest downloaded mixtapes in the last few months. “Inception” is a solid chance to remind yourself of what you want each morning, might be that little extra motivation you need to make it through the day. The virginia native always puts on a good show too, so be sure to check him out if you can and pick up his latest project Young Sinatra.
Good Day – Nappy Roots

Feeling good in the morning is key for a good day. Nappy Roots supplies the theme song for those struggling to make it out of bed and get to class. “Good Day” is a song I first heard when some friends used it to wake up on a game day and start drinking. It’s a good way to wake up to go to class, or to start taking whiskey shots…
Hey London – Chiddy Bang
Chiddy Bang might be the king of feel good songs, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be on this list. “Hey London” comes courtesy of Chiddy and Xaphoon who seems to always find the best sample to mess around with. You can’t help but rock out to this when you’re walking in the cold.
