 Pop Punk/Alternative Band to Perform

SPA LateNight presents Yellowcard, who is set to perform on Saturday, March 24 at 10 p.m. in Alumni Hall. This is a ticketless event. Students with a valid PSU photo ID will be allowed in for free on a first come, first serve basis.

Yellowcard, an alternative band which was first formed in 1997, is largely known for their catchy songs such as “Ocean Avenue” and “Light Up the Sky” making them popular in the early 2000’s, but now the band is back! Yellowcard released a highly anticipated new album in March of last year titled “When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes,” after the band’s four year hiatus. The most well known single from this album would have to be “Sing for Me.” This song was written by lead singer Ryan Key, but from the perspective of his terminally ill aunt who suffered from brain cancer. Fans of every sort feel a very strong emotional connection to this song and have even been known to make their own inspirational fan videos thanking the band and encouraging others to stay strong in times of struggle.

Yellowcard is currently working on their 8th album and a release date has not yet been announced.
